The blue in this strap is winter sky, not navy — the softest blue yarn we run — and it changes what the other two colors mean. Against it, the white field stops being background and becomes weather, and the deep crimson stripe lands like the one warm thing in a cold landscape. On pale and white coats the effect is remarkable: the white band almost vanishes into the fur and the blue and crimson seem to float. Soft blues mellow faster than cobalts, but evenly, so the strap acquires a uniform, frosted character rather than patchy fading — winter doing what winter does.
