The Japan palette, up close
Bone white is harder to weave than it looks. A pure bright white would make the rising-sun red feel like a warning label; the slightly warmed white we use instead lets the red sit on the strap the way the disc sits on the flag — calm, centered, certain. The red yarn itself is the most color-dense in the series, so the small amount of it on the webbing still registers from across a park. With only two colors and one shape, the hand-stitched edge becomes the third design element: a single even seam running the length of the collar, with no pattern to cover for it.
